Spinal cord injuries from car accidents

New York crash seriously injures 2 women

A 34-year-old woman and a 37-year-old woman were seriously injured after an SUV crashed into a restaurant on Broad Hollow Road in East Farmingdale. The crash took place about 10:30 a.m. on March 19, and police say that the driver was fleeing from another hit-and-run accident when this incident took place. It was discovered after the accident that the 69-year-old man did not have a valid driver's license.

Bus crash seriously injures 2 in New York

Authorities with the FDNY reported that two people were seriously injured when a small bus crashed near the George Washington Bridge. The accident reportedly occurred on March 10 when the bus left the roadway and smashed through a stone wall before careening down an embankment.

New York cabbie pins woman between two taxis

A woman in New York City was severely injured after an early-morning accident left her pinned between the cab into which she was loading groceries and a cab that struck her. The accident, which occurred near Times Square, sent the woman to the hospital for surgery and raised a number of questions about the underlying causes of the accident.

New York man pleads guilty to manslaughter in 2013 crash

A Patchogue man pleaded guilty to manslaughter on Feb. 20 in a case that involved a fatal automobile accident in Sayville in 2013. The man was allegedly driving while on narcotics when he veered into oncoming traffic and caused a head-on collision. The driver of the other vehicle died, and the passenger of that vehicle was seriously injured. After the plea deal, the man was sentenced to 21 years in prison.

Laryngeal nerve trauma during birth

Children in New York may experience some degree of trauma during the process of birth. There is also a possibility that conditions in the womb may have caused damage to the nascent child. Birth trauma is expressed in many forms, but one common symptom of natural birth trauma and medical errors during delivery can be injury to the laryngeal nerve.
