Construction worker hospitalized after struck by beam

Many people in New York participate in activities that can be very dangerous if things go wrong. However, many of these activities are also generally safe when people have the proper safety equipment and do not take unnecessary risks. This is true for construction workers as well. For the most part, when construction workers properly operate equipment and use the proper safety equipment, they are safe. However, when safety procedures are not followed or equipment malfunctions can occur. Far too often these accidents leave workers with serious injuries.

Recently, a New York construction worker was suffered such harm when he was hit in the head by a beam. It is unclear how the accident occurred, but clearly something went wrong. After being hit in the head, the worker went into cardiac arrest. When medics arrived at the work site they performed CPR on the worker and rushed him to the hospital. His condition is unknown, but a medic and a witness to the accident both said that it did not look good for the worker.

These types of injuries can completely change an individual's life. In some of these situations, workers even die as a result of their injuries. This creates an extremely difficult situation for victims and their families. A worker who suffers harm in one of these incidences often has a long road to recovery, if they are even able to fully recover. This means extensive medical attention, such as surgeries and long-term rehabilitation, may be necessary. The costs associated with such treatment can rise quickly, especially during a period of time when a worker is unable to earn an income.

There are many construction accidents in New York every year, leaving many workers injured as a result, some very seriously. These workers may be entitled to compensation for their injuries, though, which can help alleviate some of the financial burden that is unfairly thrust upon them. To increase one's chances of succeeding on a workers' compensation claim, injured workers can turn to experienced attorneys who can guide one through the process.
