One man dies and another is injured in construction accident

There are many skyscrapers throughout New York. Some of these buildings have been there for a long period of time, but new buildings are being built and old buildings are being repaired constantly. Constructing a building of that size is not an easy task, as many people need to perform various tasks to finish the project. There are also many pieces of equipment that are also used in these projects. The combination of these things and the high heights at which the work is performed means that all safety regulations must be followed to avoid construction accidents.

However, not all safety regulations are followed. Sometimes people make mistakes which lead to construction accidents. This recently occurred at a construction site where one of the tallest skyscrapers in New York is being built. There, a man was killed and another was injured when a large plate of glass fell when being moved, falling on the men. This accident led the city to issuing a stop work order at the construction site.

Unfortunately, these types of tragic accidents happen more often than they should. After these incidences, victims and their families can be left in very difficult positions. A victim may not only need to recover physically, but he or she will likely also need to figure out how to pay his or her bills while being unable to work. These victims and their families may be entitled to compensation for their injuries, though, which may be recoverable through the workers' compensation system and/or a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.

Many different things can go wrong on construction sites. Unfortunately, the outcome is oftentimes devastating for those involved in the accident. These victims could require extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation when injured, and families can suffer greatly when they unexpectedly lose a loved one. Although the compensation that may be recoverable through a workers' compensation claim or personal injury lawsuit may not make the injuries go away, it can still help ease the financial burdens that are undeservedly thrust upon a victim and his or her family. The process of recovering this compensation isn't always easy, though, which is why it is often wise to discuss these matters with a qualified legal professional
